What is QRide?

Q-Ride is a competency based training and assessment program, designed to ensure you demonstrate the required level of knowledge and skill for each stage of the motorcycle licensing system. There are three Q-Ride courses: •Pre-learner course - to get an RE learner licence. •Restricted (RE) course - to get an RE provisional or open licence. •Unrestricted (R) course - to get an R provisional or open licence.

Pre Learner Course

Qride Pre Learner Course Day 1 and Day 2

2 x 6 hour days

$660.00 incl. GST

Aren't you excited? Your motorcycle riding journey is about to start! The Learn2ride Qride PreLearner course runs over 2 days of 6 hours each day. The course will run over consecutive days unless otherwise noted. Once you start your Pre learner Course the 2-day program must be completed within 30 days of the commencement date. The 2-day Pre learner training course runs over consecutive days.

RE Licence Course

Qride -Learner to RE Course

8Hours + as per fixed curriculum

$370.00 incl. GST

This is the Qride Course you will need to complete to upgrade from your L-RE (Learner permit) to your Provisional-RE or Open RE. This is where you will demonstrate all of the good techniques and systems you learned during your pre learner course. Braking, the low risk line through curves and bends, good roadcraft etc. You should be pretty good at it by now. After completing this course successfully you will be able to ride a learner approved motorcycle on your own without someone accompanying you.

Your Learn2ride  Senior instructor/coach is Brett Hoskin who has been delivering Qride in Mackay since 2007.

The Learn2ride Qride course focuses on motorcycle handling skills, addresses attitudes, behaviours and will introduce many more tactics and strategies good riders employ to keep themselves safe.

The program will change the way you will view and manage situations on the road regardless of the type of vehicle you are driving/riding. Many of the things we will guide you through during the course are often not considered by riders who have not been involved in a similar training course. Its a great day and I guarantee you will learn more than you thought you would.

The benefit of the new curriculum is that it is a great step forward to help equip new motorcyclists with the right skills and mindset to become safe riders on our roads. It's not a harder course than before the changes were introduced, but it is a more structured course which will deliver more content over a slightly longer period of time in a way that is more likely to "stick" with the rider.
